Traceability & Sustainability - 'From Cocoa Bean to Premium Chocolate'

• Lindt & Sprüngli is one of the few chocolate producers in the world with full control and responsibility for all processes along the entire supply chain: From "Cocoa Bean to Premium Chocolate".

• Trust in Lindt & Sprüngli products entails an understanding of the raw materials' origins and a requirement that the suppliers comply with the ethical and quality standards of the company.

• Traceability is a core element of this ethos, as it creates a link between our products, their origin and processing, their distribution and delivery. "Traceable cocoa" stands for beans that can be traced all the way along the supply chain, from the farmer to the consumer, based on the principle: "From Cocoa Bean to Premium Chocolate".

• Traceability also plays a key role in terms of responsibility, allowing us a valuable insight into the socio-economical environment from which cocoa beans are sourced.

• Sustainability of cocoa supply requires that cocoa farmers are treated as partners, receiving fair prices for their products, getting access to training for the improvement of crop quality and yield, as well as benefitting from improvements in their communities' infrastructure.
Premiums paid by Lindt & Sprüngli for traceable cocoa are used via Source Trust to sponsor infrastructure-related, welfare and educational projects in the communities where we source our cocoa.
